What's the end of anti-aging research?

Yes, we can definitely save lots of money if we tackle aging issues efficiently.

But what's the ultimate goal of human beings?

Living longer, longer and longer?

Imagine we are all 100 years old, can we still fly everywhere and travel around? Could we still study and publish papers? Could we go to all-you-can-eat and party with people?

Unless we are going to re-engineer ourselves. Artifitial joints., stem cell reporgramming of organ or tissue, anti-aging drugs, mental sharpening medicine...

If it is what we do when we have longer life, I would suggest die naturually instead of living like a robot-you are no longer yourself anymore.

UT Health Science Center San Antonio has a aging research center that's touted to be the premier aging research center in the US. The director said that their goal is not to make people live longer, but to improve the quality of life. People already live pretty long, but the quality of life is pretty horrible during the last years of life. Aging research is to find ways so people could live a good life during those last years.

To me that does make sense, and makes it sound even more appealing for fund raising from the rich elderly.

I respect their research aim, but am not interested enough to join :D

Hmm the aim is good.

But I think we could only tackle 60% at most. People still need to struggle with the rest duirng the last years.
