Potluck@Campus

Everybody was stoked for this event! The potluck held by summer classmates and faculties featured various traditional dishes: we had Japanese sushi bar, Japanese 滷肉, 小籠包, 餛飩, spicy pasta, French pie, Slirankan side dishes, American homemade banana chocolate cake, and homemade wines from Santa Cruz, while all of which were very delicious!
I was exhauseted with preparaing 餛飩. I chopped shrimps, green onions, and celery into bits until 1:00am. Later in the evening I steamed around 50 小籠包 by only two electirc pots, which cost me around 1.5 hours. I finally realized how complicated Chinese food was and told myself I wouldn't cook 餛飩 again!
Sushi Bar, Slirankan side dishes& some wines. Most of our classmates are Japanese, and they prepared this sushi bar together. They invited us to drink some sake ( imagine how sake reacted with wine in my belly; I got dizzy all the night), and told us some interesting stories about how crazy they drink beers in Japan.
