Spam comments has now infiltrated this blog

It's like a vicious infectious disease. It's dominating the web.
Let's stop this and keep the internet a clean place as it should be.

As we are blocking ads in the form of spam mail and pop-ups, those persistant pests are always comming up with new ways to throw junk in our face. They have made new kinds of pop-ups, spam with twists that get through filters, pop-unders, and now, their latest creation: spam blog comments.

My own blog was "infected" about 2 months ago (read about it here). It seems that they are using "bots", which are computer programs that do the work automatically, to post pseudo comments on people's blogs. The top most post is always the main target, and they always start with something like "nice blog, I really like it" when the whole point was those links that take you to web sites that contain stuff that they are advertising about.

DO NOT CLICK ON THOSE LINKS, I repeat, DO NOT CLICK ON THOSE LINKS

Most marketing sites have site loggers that record visits to that site. And when they see links comming in from those blog comment spam, it conferms the effectiveness of these dirty marketing tactics, which then encourage them to do it more. This is how the spam of the e-mail world grew to what it is today. There's always some dumb people that click on the links in the spam, the people that makes spam all worth it.

OK, now you know what I mean, here's what you should do.
(which means you, Icetimer and all other bloggers who are experiencing this problem)
1. Find those junk comments and delete them.
(In this case, it's the first 2 comments of that post about Taipei101)

2. Go into your blog dashboard, and activate blogger's new feature (came out a month ago): Word Varification for Comments. (here's how)

Please act fast to stop the pests, and don't feed them with link clicks.
Hope this will stop those ad-commenting bots and help keep this nice blog clean.
