Bugged by Mosquitoes

There's thundershower outside while "mosquito rain" inside.
The mosquitoes in my house were quite cunning: you wouldn't find them until you raised your head and saw them staying on the ceiling and waiting for the next "target."
It was nightmare:they kept biting your skin and made annoying itches while scratching themselves might provoke more itching--tortured processes that scar the skin, destroy the sleep and sometimes send you to the brink of suicide!
I once used mosquito sprays, but it seemed in vain. Whatsmore, I couldn't sleep since the heavy fetid odors of the sprays.
Sometimes I'm just unconsciously clawing at my arms, ankles and feet, i'm wondering if there's some treatment for quelling itch, but treatment options for itch is deeply frustrating><
Any suggestions?

palm tiger?
Is it sth like "white flower ointment?"
well recently i've found that wearing long-sleeved clothes such as jacket could also reduce itching, and a magic ointment given by dad could effeciently make the wound healed.
it's great that u got a chance working in NIH! While my program haven't fully confirmed yet...
Well there's a long lag on my final schedule.>< Time to bury my nose in textbooks!!

isn't it "Tiger Balm"...(oh well, it doesn't matter)
I use "Benadryl"(the brand's now bought and used by pfizer), which is a "histamine blocker".
So, as you know about histamines(maybe this thing binds to receptors?), it really works, but may take a while to kick in. But, you can only get it in the US, now that sucks :D

thanks for info.
yeah,"Benadryl" is a more scientific approach to the itching.
but i think itching might work as the alarm clock, telling you're attacked by some foreign agents. if this normal immunoreaction was over supressed, would we lose the natural protection thereafter?
well, i would prefer tiger balm since it not only reduces some itching but prevents breaking the balance in the body. Besides, it's really handy, even in the State!

deer theory of everything,
i'm now in the state of emergency: both the final(~6/27) and the lab.
textbooks are so interesting, and before i went into the lab, everything seemed work well and my choice for biological research seemed right. but ever since i had my first experince in lab, my hope faded.
Doing research is not bad, its part of finding the truth and working orderly, logically, and having scientific spirit inside.
but i don't like staying in lab, finding one point of natural events.(especially those "molecule" or "cell" stuff)its reallly boring.i want to experience rich and coloful life.
thats why traveling is the only thing came to my mind for this summer vacation, i want to learn sth by traveling.
unfortunately, lab might destroy my traveling dream: there's no long time vacation but only weekend tour possible. but lab is neccesary for us who major in biology.
maybe my original choice was too ideal, while i want ot learn different faces of life.
but i can't deny that that making some rules refined or discovered is fascinating.
my parents hope i could get a stable job, oh god, should i be a doctor or public servant?
in fact im adventurous, i want to discover sth, but lab is tooo boring for me so far, i can't find any lab suited for my topic.
"studying sth revolutionary, provoking my creativity, and firing my cerebration" might be just a dream, could i make it one day?
well, forgive icetimer- she's on the verge of losing her mind-
just say good luck and may you have a colorful life in NIH, and don't forget to share your story there^^
